To face the challenges of a globalized world requires Human Resources (HR) with potential. These can be overcome if person has good metacognitive With metacognition skills, it any problems in learning activities and everyday life. Cognitive processes include changes that occur individuals regarding thinking, intelligence language. Metacognition refers to person's skills processing information strategies information. In its implementation, is not as simple definition because high-level mental process such making plans, using appropriate solve problem evaluation alternatives. an important aspect individual learning. This includes self-regulation, reflection on strengths, weaknesses self-performance strategies. Based this statement, plays very role students primary school teacher education study program. through self-regulation activities, strengths what been done have pursued, will able improve quality outcomes. Research Objectives: see description Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) at Quality Berastagi University. Method: Quantitative Descriptive excel. The data obtained were analyzed Percentage Measurement Technique. Targeted outcomes: Students get metacognition. research was conducted University Berastagi, North Sumatra subjects being 258 PGSD Program. sampling technique determined purposive technique. instrument used MAI (Metacognitive Awareness Inventory) questionnaire sheet which consisted 52 items consisting 5 rating scales. Data analysis quantitative descriptive by percentage measurement Metacognitive reached 75.09%, Components (Knowledge Abaout Cognition 25.03% & Regulation 50.06%. Details (Declarative Knowledge (76%)) ), Procedural (77.03%), Conditional (77.08%), Planning (77.54%), Information Management Strategies (71.7%), Comprehension Monitoring (73.5%), Debugging ( 77%), Evaluation (74.06%).
